Chemical and/or Behavioral Addiction Services

Many highly functioning people find that life’s difficulties have led to negative behavioral responses and coping patterns that become compulsive and out of control. Professional Treatment Services offers help to those afflicted by chemical and/or behavioral addictions within a caring, motivating and inspiring milieu.

We believe that clients have the inner resources to attain recovery of the life that preceded the addictive behaviors and the Professional Treatment Services program can partner with them in that pursuit. We will aid the client in recognition of the biological, psychological and social factors that contributed to the current problems. Utilizing a strengths-oriented assessment and treatment plan, we will develop and implement a personal recovery path that the client can use toward reaching a higher level of functioning.

Treatment is individualized within the two primary treatment milieus, Outpatient and Intensive Outpatient. Outpatient is defined as nine or less hours of treatment per week and Intensive Outpatient is defined as nine up to twenty hours of treatment per week. These programs provide schedule flexibility for the client to learn recovery strategies while functioning within their environment.

Professional Treatment Services staff incorporate innovative, proven, addictive treatment knowledge and expertise that will maximize your recovery success. We specialize in working with individuals struggling with addictive behaviors including chemical abuse and addiction and/or behavioral addictions such as pathological gambling, compulsive shopping and spending, and Internet addictions.

Psychotherapy Tract

This tract is designed for persons dealing with problems interfering with daily functioning: including mood and anxiety disorders; and/or personality disorders; chemical and/or behavioral addiction's relapse prevention; anger issues; trauma; and/or life transition issues.

Adolescent Treatment Services

In this modern world young people are offered many temptations including mood altering drugs and/or alcohol. Often their usage of alcohol and/or drugs causes academic, family, and/or legal problems. We can help. Professional Treatment Services offers outpatient treatment for adolescents ages 14 through 17 who are experiencing substance use related problems. The adolescent program is directed and operated by our highly qualified and experienced professionals including Duane Olberding, LSCSW, Kendall Heiman, LMSW, and Samantha Attkisson, AAPS Certified Counselor Assistant.

It is our goal to create a safe atmosphere where adolescents can take healthy recovery risks and learn improved ways of participating in life. Our staff is committed to providing personalized, solution focused treatment planning which takes into account each individual’s strengths and challenges. Additionally, our comprehensive treatment approach encourages family involvement and offers education and support to the parents and caregivers of our adolescent clients.

Curriculum

Within the adolescent outpatient and intensive outpatient treatment episode clients will receive 6 hours of group counseling on a weekly basis in addition to on-going individual sessions with one of our professionals. Our six week treatment curriculum includes education about the impact of addiction on an individual’s Bio-Psycho-Social-Spiritual health and examines implications for re-establishing health in recovery. Additionally our curriculum offers education about relapse prevention strategies, life skills training, family dynamics and an introduction to the 12-Steps of Recovery. Following the successful completion of the primary treatment episode, clients may participate in a once weekly Continuing Care group for the duration of their first year in recovery. This group is designed to aid our adolescent clients through stressful life events while focusing on relapse prevention and long-term recovery.

Adolescent Treatment Groups take place on Monday, Wednesday and Friday evenings from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM and Saturday afternoons from 12:00 PM to 2:00 PM. Please contact one of our professionals to schedule an appointment for a comprehensive assessment and intake.

Treatment Services for the Family

Our professionals recognize that the effects of substance use and other compulsive behaviors reach far beyond the individual experiencing the addiction and impact the people who are close to them. Family members and friends often have an intimate understanding of the trauma of addiction. Our treatment program is designed to introduce family recovery concepts so that everyone can begin to enjoy the quality of life that recovery offers.

Please join us for family night on Tuesday evenings from 5:15 to 8:00. PTS offers a six week curriculum which includes education related to addiction, recovery, relapse prevention, family dynamics, building healthy relationships, and effective communication techniques as well as an introduction to 12-Step programming including Al-Anon. You are welcome to attend even if the individual seeking treatment is unable to attend. Additionally, our staff is able to provide individual and couples counseling.
